Westwood is located in the Pascack Valley in the center of Bergen County. It is approximately 7 miles south of the New Jersey-New York state border. The borough has grown over the years and has a thriving downtown business district that is named "The Hub of the Pascack Valley". Prior to the Civil War, Westwood was the home of the Lenni-Lenape Indians of the Eastern Algongquin Nation and there are many historic buildings throughout Westwood.
